As previously mentioned, incorrect instructions are included with this light kit. The following are the correct installation instructions: EZ-Go Lighting Kit Contents: Mounting brackets with hardware) (4) 6mm x 15mm screws for light barsf) (8) Stainless steel screwsg) (2) 6mm x 20mm screws, washers and locknut ) (10) cable ties) (1) installation guide with shaft light patterns Caution: Before beginning this project, disconnect the positive and negative terminals of the system from the battery or battery pack. Please read the instructions carefully. Installation of the lightbar1. Remove the two mounting rivets in the front fender by carefully drilling them with a 1/8" drill bit. Using a 3/8" wrench, loosen the fender mounting bolts approximately 1/8". Do not loosen the screws, only loosen them enough for the headlight bracket to fit on.3. Disconnect the lightbar from the wiring harness.4. Attach the two Headlight Support Brackets to the Headlight Support using the 6mm x 15mm5 screws provided. Install the headlight bar by sliding the headlight bar bracket over the fender mounting bolts. There are two holes at the top of the mounting brackets that allow installation on both old and new EZ-Go front ends. Use mounting holes that match the fender mounting bolts. (See drawing on page 4)6. Using two 6mm x 20mm screws, attach the light bar mounting brackets to the mounting holes from which the rivets were removed. Installing the rear light 1. Cut out the rear light from the template. Place the template face up on the back of the driver's side body. Carefully place the stencil and tape in place, be careful on freshly painted surfaces. Mark the cut-out area and remove the template.2. Apply masking tape along the outside edges of the lines. This provides protection for the surface of the body.3. Carefully drill holes at the inside corners of the lines with a bit large enough for the saw blade. Do not drill outside the lines.4. Using a jigsaw, insert the blade into one of the holes and carefully cut along the marked line until the notch disappears. Remove the tape. Use a file or 80 grit sandpaper to smooth the edges.5. Turn the template over and repeat steps 1-4 on the passenger side. Page 36. Insert driver's and front passenger's taillights into their respective holes and check for fit. If necessary, file or grind the cut-out. Align both bezel assemblies and secure with tape. Take some reference measurements and step back to visually verify alignment is correct.7. Once the taillights are properly aligned, attach them to the body using the eight stainless steel screws provided. Center the plate on the ignition switch access cover 1-1/4" from the right edge and center horizontally. Carefully drill a 3/8" hole for the message switch, being careful not to wire or other components to drill. Remove the panel by removing the two rivets on the underside. Identify and disconnect the wires from the ignition switch. Use a file to remove any sharp edges and set the panel aside. Install the Wiring Harness 1. Make sure the positive and negative contacts of the battery or battery pack are removed.2.Raise the front of the vehicle and place it securely on the jack stands.Make sure the vehicle safety brake is applied and the rear wheels are locked 3. Remove the lower seat cushion and rear access door 3. Remove the push/pull switch from the wiring harness 4. Go under the front hood and d Carefully pull the ignition switch wire out of the hole in the fender and remove the tape from the end. Move.5. Starting at the engine battery compartment on the passenger side, locate the existing ignition switch harness.6. Route the headlight and pull/push switch wires through the oval slots in the cross frame towards the front of the vehicle, following the existing wires until you reach the underside of the bonnet.7. Insert the two wires for the push/pull switch into the existing ignition circuit, re-tape the frame and slide it through the original hole.8. Remove the knob, locknut and washer from the switch and connect it to the wire harness. Insert the switch stem into the hole in the plate and secure with a washer and nut and reattach the handle. Connect the wires to the ignition switch.
