Review on 🧹 Bissell 2156A Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner by Doug Ellingson

This could be a great vacuum, it has potential. Very powerful and well made. Except for one very silly design flaw: the telescoping hose extensions (those straight plastic tubes that connect to the hose) and the base nozzles don't snap or lock together. They just slide into each other. This allows them to burst CONSTANTLY. Especially if you are not on a hard wooden floor such as carpet or any other material surface. The suction power is very strong, so strong that when you pull out the telescopic extensions or the floor nozzle, it pops out. Very frustrating and could be solved with a simple plastic snap or clasp design. It doesn't look like it took Bissell a lot of money to add a locking/click feature to the plastic parts, so it's very odd and unreasonable why they designed it without it. The only solution I can think of is to glue these extensions and the floor tool to the extension. However, it will be very annoying every time I have to remove and reapply the tape after using the vacuum cleaner. I suspect that Bissell actually made this product bad on purpose. If you look at the Bissell 4122 (basically the bag version of this vacuum cleaner) it doesn't have this problem. Telescopic extensions and floor tools have locking mechanisms, and telescopic extensions are made of much nicer stainless steel than cheap plastic. And it's the same price as the bagless model and they pretty much have the same specs. My guess is that Bissell makes most of its money buying bags, much like printers make money buying ink. They don't make money off bagless models, so they make them cheaper and worse, and bagged models are better but for the same price. Bissell's dirty tactics.
