Review on ๐Ÿณ Enhance Your Cooking Experience with 2 Pack Digital Kitchen Timer - Big Digits, Loud Alarm, Magnetic Backing & Stand: Perfect for Baking and Cooking - White by Heidi Davis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

very dark display, good alarm volume, annoying beep *on each* key press, max 99 minutes

A bit hard to write a negative review for something *so* cheap. $7 or so for *two* timers! But it must be done. There has to be a better choice. Both of my timers arrived very quickly and I installed a brand new battery. If you attach the timer to the fridge (at eye level), the numbers are a little hard to read. Since the top light casts a shadow on the top of the LCD digits (because there isn't much space between the top of the display and the beginning of the slightly protruding plastic case), I've learned to set it higher. When I went to set the timer, I found that it has a maximum time of 99 minutes. too short for many kitchen uses. Even worse. and it's a show stopper. The display is pretty hard to read if you don't point it at the right angle to the light. There is no backlight, the contrast between the background and the included numbers is poor. At first I thought "the battery must be empty" and tried a new, different brand. The same thing. When getting dressed (for 15 minutes) I had to annoy other people around me with 15 "beeps". one at the push of a button. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off. On the plus side, the alarm clock is loud (much better than my more expensive 1 year old three lane alarm clock) and the magnet keeps it on the fridge well. Would I buy again? no Will I keep using it? Unlikely. Once I find the best, it goes in the goodwill bag. The second photo I took (the timer is on the counter, the kitchen light is on) shows how hard it is to read. Feature: If you press "Stop" after the alarm has been triggered, the countdown will be reset to the original value (not 0). Obviously for a timer this is an obvious thing to do (since setting it to "0:00" is usually done with a simple press of a button) so I'm excited for this feature!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
