The best of a laser printer combined with the best of an inkjet printer

This printer completely exceeded my expectations. I have a business that requires me to send 600-1000 marketing emails at the end of each week. Every letter has a high-quality letterhead, which has always lost a lot of quality when printed on a laser printer. I ended up having to print 600 letters a week on a general purpose inkjet printer to make my logo and letterhead look crisp and stand out. Needless to say, a regular inkjet printer takes forever to print that many letters, and I ended up having to keep many ink cartridges idle because I felt like I ran out of ink mid-letter every time. This printer combines the best of both worlds. It has the speed of a laser printer and the bright, accurate color of an inkjet printer. ADVANTAGES: Very fast printing. Even at maximum speed, the print quality remains acceptable for office use. The second highest speed, which is still very fast, is perfect for marketing emails as the logo doesn't seem to lose quality and the text stays dark and clear. The scanner works great. The scanner scans quickly even when the device is connected to a wireless network. In the past, wireless networking and scanning always seemed like a frustrating experience. The scanner it replaced scanned half of the document, then paused for a few seconds before continuing. I assumed it was having trouble sending data to my computer over the network as it wasn't when connected via USB. This problem no longer exists and I have the added benefit of being able to scan both sides of documents at the same time. I scan a lot, so this feature comes in very handy. The ink cartridges are big. I no longer have to keep a large stock of individual cartridges as the cartridges for this printer last much longer. I've printed over 3,000 letters with black text spanning 3/4 to 4/5 of a page, with each letter having a colored header and footer. I also printed as many envelopes as letters. Each envelope contained a general address block with black text and a colored return address block with the company's logo. Color cartridges almost never run out and I just got a black cartridge ink low notification. I would say it's not that bad as those are the ones that came with the printer. The device is compact. I expected this machine to be slightly larger than my Brother laser printer. About the same size, maybe a little smaller. However, this pad contains more paper. The printer looks good. Continuous. This printer is solidly built. None of its components feel fragile or could fall off after too much use. All doors and compartments close tightly, feel secure and don't rattle during printing. Low noise level. This printer definitely prints quieter than a regular laser printer, albeit a little louder than a regular inkjet printer. The part that makes the most noise on this device seems to be the gears/wheels that eject the finished print. I find the speed they have to spin at to print so fast makes them louder than regular inkjet printers. Laser printers have a high-speed fan that keeps them cool while printing, which usually produces a high-pitched squeal. Inkjet printers do not need these types of fans and are therefore quieter than laser printers. Less power consumption. Laser printers use much more energy. I don't have any jargon to share with you about this, but I do have my personal observations. Whenever I used my laser printer, the moment it turned on to start printing, it used so much electricity that the lights in my home office dimmed for a moment. It's like turning on a vacuum cleaner. That doesn't happen with the HP Pagewide, nice touchscreen. The screen is large and well lit. It also has an adjustable tilt so it can be positioned according to your needs. The screen registers quickly when an icon is tapped, and I didn't notice any lag or problems navigating the menus. CONS: The tray doesn't hold enough finished prints. I like the fact that 500 sheets of paper can be loaded into this printer. However, it cannot print all 500 without pausing. You should keep an eye on the output tray and remove the printed matter after about 300 pages. It would be nice not to follow that. I prefer to remove 500 pages from the output tray when it's time to load another 500 sheets of paper. Being able to load 500 pages but only print 300 at a time makes no sense to me. Significant slowdown in duplex printing. Logic dictates that this is inevitable if the page is printed, pulled back into the printer, and printed again. Duplex printing seems to be slower than it should be. The first side of the paper appears to be printed at half speed before the sheet is pulled back to print on the back side. I find that my old laser printer prints faster double-sided, although it's much slower when printing single-sided. Cannot be loaded with 30 envelopes and will normally indicate a paper jam when it reaches the last envelope. The device says it can load up to 30 envelopes. Although it prints in this case, the first 4-5 envelopes don't seem to feed properly, resulting in the address and return blocks being printed at an angle, or a small portion of the return block being printed over the top of the envelope. . Entering no more than 20 seems to work much better and mostly prints with no issues. Another problem with envelopes seems to be that the last envelope is taken and printed. I would say that about 25% of the time the last envelope prints but the machine stops and reports a paper jam. I need to open the sidebar and get a correctly printed envelope. A "jammed" envelope is always in perfect condition and properly sealed. After clearing the "jam" and reloading the tray, I have to wait for it to pick up a new envelope and let it run through the printer without printing before it starts printing envelopes again. Doesn't give much detail about what is printed. My old Canon inkjet printer tells me what page it's on while it's printing, real-time ink info, how many pages are left and lots of other info. Not this printer. Clicking to view the details of the printing process simply opens the standard Windows print window. It just indicates that something is printing and gives you the option to restart, cancel, or delete. I expected more. Information like this is very helpful when I'm trying to print 500 envelopes and am curious how many envelopes I have left to print. The tray does not always come down when you need to load more paper or envelopes. When you pull out the paper tray, there is a metal bracket that slides down. After refilling and closing the tray, this support lifts the paper into position for feeding into the printer. This staple does not always go down and you cannot load paper if it doesn't go down. To fix this you need to close the tray and then open it again until it lowers. Loses connection to my computer after disconnecting. If the power goes out or I need to turn off the printer, I have to go into the software on my computer and tell the software the printer's new IP address. Not a big problem, but can be annoying if you need to connect multiple computers to it. Does not use 802.11AC. This printer will not connect to a 5 GHz connection. If you're using an 802.11ac router like I am, you'll need to enable dual band and allow connections on the 2.4 GHz frequency. It's unlikely that the printer's speed and functionality will improve with a 5GHz connection, but it would be nice if all my devices could connect to the router the same way, so I don't have to use both 5GHz and 2GHz .4 GHz must transmit. signal from my router. I only have one device including all cell phones, tablets and laptops that needs to be connected to 2.4 and that is this printer.
