Review on Atune Analog Function Correction 4 Digital by Devin Bro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Get this "region free " player to play some UK DVDs: NOT FREE!

I'm pretty pissed that this DVD player that claims (at the time of this review) to be "Region Free" (meaning it can play DVDs from any region) definitely is Not so. Why did I choose this player without using the region so it has no use for me. When I insert a UK Region 2 disc, the player starts reading the disc, then briefly shows Stop, then 'Wrong Region'. This would not allow me to navigate the settings with a disc inserted. I should have taken it. Then I realized that there is no way to set the region (which is quite common) for a limited number of times. The player is a very simple and cheap player, which is immediately recognizable from the low-profile LCD display. I didn't expect anything more than "region free" work. It is USB powered and the surface of the case was frayed due to the packaging material (I tried wiping this with a paper towel and the paper towel rubbed the surface on top. It works fine with region 1 drives. I have mine with my connected TV with HDMI output (1080p max) which makes sense for this type of device. It has a decent upscaler which I expect these days (only 10 years old. Upscalers used to be pretty terrible usually but technology is advancing .) It has composite, RCA L&R audio, RCA component output jacks and coaxial digital audio outputs Everything I've come to expect from a basic, no-frills DVD player. The user interface is very reminiscent of Windows 3.11 (if you're old enough (to remember that). There's a read function if you want or need it, which I think is a plus. To do is that it's a good, inexpensive DVD player. And why i give it 1 star nata or country house it could be 4 or 5 stars for you. But if you're looking for a region-free player that can play discs from any region, this isn't the device you should buy.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Very expensive
