We bought two of these humidifiers about 2 months ago and they still work great. I only run mine at night and it uses about half a gallon of water. My husband works full time and uses about 2 gallons a day. It fills easily and seems accurate in terms of moisture levels and time remaining. If you close the door to the room where the humidifier is located, it will hold in moisture better and absorb less water.
