I admit that the disappointment is probably my fault. I would definitely not buy an adapter for pictures; I don't take much, and not a single one on the microSD. I have "dvrs" on two SUVs and two motorcycles and they all use high speed microSD cards to record video in .mp4 or .mov format. I now play a lot of Youtube .mp4s on my iPhone and iPad, as well as "Airdropped" or email .movs, but iOS doesn't seem to support transferring files in a similar format from an external storage device. So the Apple device sees the media, sees that there are files on it, and the transfer menu comes up - with an empty file list since it only supports image files. Well, it transfers images and it's not expensive, so at least I didn't lose a lot of money for a product that doesn't do anything that I find useful.
