I have two of these scissors. This is by far the best scissors I have ever used. The blade holds up very well and only needs to be sharpened once a year with proper care. Super sharp - I use it to cut through the tip of my pinky finger and snip the thread in a hurry. They cut through silk, canvas, leather, chiffon or burlap with ease. I work in the theater and fashion industry and they train every day. Her weight and balance are excellent. Even with carpal tunnel and arthritis, my hands don't hurt or burn after a day of cutting. The only problem is that you have to find a very good sharpener as the angle of the blades is not typical of American scissors and seems to be one of the reasons for Shozaburo's magical sharpness.
