Not for thick curly natural hair

I decided to use this brush to detangle my natural hair before shampooing. I have Type 4 (with curly hair) thick shoulder length hair. I thought this comb would detangle my hair better than my Tangle Teezer. It was then that I realized that I was deeply mistaken. The brush design makes detangling difficult for me. The pen is difficult to hold in hand and too small for me to hold my hair well. The teeth aren't long enough to go through my hair. It took me over 30 minutes to detangle my hair with this brush. I'll just stick with my flat brush and Tangle Teezer. This brush just isn't for me.
