This is a light-weight robe that is most suitable for warm weather. My daughter has one of those very thick and heavy full-length robes that can get to be a bit much in the summertime. Well, summer is now long-gone but I ordered this knee-length robe for my daughter to use next year when the weather starts heating up again. She is 5'1" tall and about 110 pounds and usually wears a size 4 and orders tops in size XS or S. I ordered the grey version is size S and it is a very generous fit on her. The robe is not at all bulky and the shawl collar is not as oversized as it is on many robes. The length extends to a few inches below the knee. The belt loops are positioned well and the belt is quite long. There is no inner tie to help keep the robe closed, but the rather oversized fit means there is plenty of overlap, so my daughter doesn't really need it. The sleeves are a good length for her and the square patch pockets are a nice size for stashing small items. The robe is comfortable and seems fine for everyday wear but might not be considered "gift worthy". The quality of the robe is about what I would expect considering the price point. It is not towel-like in the least and it is neither soft nor luxurious. It is thin and light and not at all plush, although it does get a bit softer and slightly more fluffy after laundering. The product description states that the fabric content is 100% terry cloth, which is all well and good, but it does not state if it is a cotton based terry, or polyester, or some sort of blend. The sewn in tag states the same thing, which is less than helpful. Terry cloth is usually but not always cotton. This is information that I rely on when making a decision about clothing purchased online, and should be available to customers before placing an order. I would consider the fabric to be of a mid-grade quality -- on the outer face (the outside of the robe) the terry loops are fairly close-packed and quite short which is nice, but they are also very light-weight. The inside of the robe has a lightly ribbed texture. The robe is well made and it can be machine washed and tumble dried at low temperature. It really can't be given as a gift as it arrived in a vacuum sealed bag and there are no attached tags signifying that it is a new and unworn item. The robe meets but does not exceed my expectations. The current price is $26.99 which seems reasonable.
