Defective machine and worst customer service

The washing machine was easy to assemble and seemed to clean the carpet well. The time we used it. About 15 minutes after the second cleaning, the water tank started leaking all over the car and carpet. Yes we followed the directions, we used tap water and the Hoover shampoo that came in the box. Check out many other reviews describing the same issue, which I unfortunately ignored. The car was still under warranty so it shouldn't be a big deal right? Well wrong. We called Hoover and explained the problem. Customer Service Rep #1 (abbreviated as CSR1) who pretended to be doing us a huge favor promised to send a new tank within 3-5 business days. Two weeks passed, there was no water tank anywhere. So I called and spoke to customer service rep #2. Turns out there was no record of our conversation with CSR1. There were no orders in the system, no tank on the way, absolutely nothing. Oh and the part is on order so CSR2 promised it would ship in 2 weeks. And now a few more weeks pass and there is no tank. All right, time to talk to CSR3! Good news, this time they at least have a tape of our conversation and an order (thanks CSR2). Bad news, the part has just been ordered. It can't be, I was specifically told it would be in stock a few weeks ago. So, after waiting for a while, CSR3 comes back and says yes, the part is actually in stock, we just haven't shipped it to you yet. Why? Well who knows. They just didn't. But CSR3 PROMISES it will be sent ASAP and we should get it within 3-5 business days. It was 2 weeks ago. If you've gotten this far reading this review, you've probably guessed that we never received a replacement tank. I understand that the manufacturing process is not perfect. Mistakes happen. How a company deals with these mistakes makes the difference between good and bad business practices. Hoover failed miserably and as far as I know it's a breach of contract if you break your own guarantee and lie to your customers outright. No more vacuum cleaners for us. This machine is too expensive for one-time use.
