I've been using stereos for years but for some reason I've never used banana plugs despite their obvious benefits. They fit and I decided to give them a try given the price, which is probably pretty low ($1.50 a pair at the time of writing. Some high quality forks are $20 a pair or more). The forks come in a plastic bag with 12 black and 12 red marked forks. As shown in the figures, the end caps are dual purpose, four bladed end caps with bottom and side connection options. The fit and finish seems pretty good. They are well made and look beautiful. They consist of three parts: a banana plug head, a colored plastic ring and a bottom screw in a compression sleeve. The listing boasts that they can use up to 18 gauge wire. I use 14 and 12 in both of my setups and have found them to work great with both, but there is room for spares so 16 and 18 gauge wires will probably work well too. The magnet test shows that these plugs have a strong magnetic field. This suggests that they are made from a black material such as iron or steel and then plated with gold. The best banana plugs are made of copper or plated brass, so as I suspected, they're definitely on the lower end of the quality scale. They believe brass and copper offer much better sound transmission compared to iron or steel. If given a choice, they would most likely skip it and connect the copper wires directly to the terminals. Unless you're an audiophile and not using them for serious high-end tuning, these plugs should be fine. I tried them on my mid-range hardware and really didn't notice any difference in sound quality. Again, I'm not an audiophile and I don't have the ear for it. So I think most people can buy and use them without any problems. take it how you want
