I actually bought this for a friend but when it arrived I was amazed at how light and compact it was and decided to keep it for myself. This replaces the huge, heavy, brick-sized dock I used before. It takes up less desk space, is much lighter and maneuverable, and has so many ports. I really need every inch of desktop for my dual laptop configuration, so the small footprint was important. Two HDMI connections for my two monitors were also important. I connected a dock to a KVM switch and it works great. I've tried this with two different laptops, an HP Pavilion and an ASUS 2-in-1 with a touchscreen. It works great with dual monitors or a laptop screen + a single monitor. My wireless keyboard and mouse combo works without lag.
