I am an electrician. This ladder is amazing (yes I know it's expensive :) I had the exact same one (exact same model) for about five years before replacing it with the same model. The previous one would probably last longer if I wasn't using it in very cold temperatures (one of the latches broke when folding it :( However, there are a few things you should know about this ladder before you decide to buy and (I read a lot of negative reviews, users obviously didn't understand how to use this ladder.) So number one: you can extend it to any usable length by pulling up at the top (on each section) Number two: To fold the ladder, reach behind the OUTSIDE of the ladder before grabbing the latch at the very bottom to fold it down (so DO NOT pinch your hands/fingers) And finally number three, if you (how shall I say this?) try, it Plus it's awesome and worth every penny :^)
