This thing exploded the second I plugged it in, turned off the light, and burned my $1,000 monitor! I am a scientist and do a lot of important work on the PC. That’s why protecting data and devices with a quality surge protector strip is paramount in my case. I've been using the regular ones for a while, but I was a bit worried about the quality. Belkin seemed like a solid option, despite some negative comments. The extension cord itself seems cheap (like most of them). The worst part was that the second I plugged in my monitor (no PC) and flipped the switch, a small explosion went off in the strip and the lights in my apartment went out. A few hours after our technician fixed the light, the monitor wouldn't turn on. This is a $1,000 monitor and this strip should protect it! I didn't think we were making so much progress scientifically, but we're still trying to make an expansion. Brands too often use the cheapest products to save a penny or two. Buy something else!
