Review on Pirelli Ice Zero 195/60 R15 88T winter by Micha Dobrzyski ᠌

The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

In operation, the dimension is 215-60-16. For the first thousand kilometers they hummed and thundered mercilessly, at least cover your ears with your hands, but then rolled into a fairly quiet one. Mileage approximately 22 tkm for 2 seasons, mainly in the Hong Kong region and Hong Kong. Driving style is calm, not faster than 100-110 km/h. For all the time I have not lost a single spike and the almost complete absence of tread wear. Next, I will describe the behavior on different types of coverage. 1. Asphalt. On dry and wet pavement, it exhibits good grip during acceleration and braking. When entering fairly tight corners at speed, perhaps due to the relatively high profile, they begin to slide off the arc. You just feel how the profile "folds" sideways. 2. Wet snow "porridge" and dry loose snow. Excellent behaviour. 3. Ice and packed snow. And here was an unpleasant surprise. In straight line acceleration and deceleration it's great. Cling right away. But when passing an arc on such a surface, side slip begins unexpectedly early. There is some limit to the ratio of arc steepness / speed at which the tires still cling, but as soon as you enter the arc more abruptly / faster, the car begins to deliberately slide sideways. Maybe there are tire models that are even less grippy in the lateral direction, but I compare with the budget Hankook iPike W409 tires of the previous car, which drove about 60 tkm in 4 seasons with the same driving style. There was no such sliding, however, there were also disadvantages. In general, for a relaxed driving style - very good tires, but in tight corners they require attention.

Pros
  • - good traction on any surfaces at speeds up to 100 in a straight line; - wear resistance; - moderate noise after running.
Cons
  • - a fairly strong tendency to early side slip on ice. - at speeds over 100 descent from the arc in sharp turns on asphalt
