These leggings are as stretchy and comfortable as other high-waisted leggings. The biggest difference is the BELT! I measured on the stretched and lying belt. Maybe this will help you decide whether to take the plus size (which is what I ordered) or the regular size. When measured horizontally (13 inches wide = 26 inches circumference) --- When stretched they are measured (20 inches wide = 40 inches circumference). So if you feel like you can fit your belt in these sizes, I would suggest going plus size. If smaller, take the usual "one size". I weigh about 170 pounds and am 5ft 8 inches tall, usually medium/tall or 10 for females. I have long legs so I choose plus size because I have a 29 inch inseam. Everyone has a different shape and weight load, but I find these leggings to be very stretchy and opaque. They wash very well and I let them air dry, no tears, pilling or loose stitching. a little softer ;)
