Review on Hiccapop Convertible Toddler Reinforced Anchor by Melody Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality rails but design and installation could be improved - Install under the frame!

Assembling the rail wasn't exactly intuitive, but the instructions helped complete the setup. When assembled, the folding rail is surprisingly difficult to open, the fabric part seems to resist lowering the rail. This may have been intentional, but it appears that something has been assembled incorrectly, although it appears to be correct. The locks don't engage when the rail returns to the up position - usually one or both needs a little push to help them into the slots. Installing the rail presented a problem, as mentioned: the round bars created massive lumps in the mattress, so large that both ends of the mattress fell off under slight pressure (note: this is a fairly expensive Simmons crib mattress). I decided to move the mattress up one position and attach the bars to the underside of the spring frame, using heavy duty zip ties to hold the bar firmly to the frame at the front and the included hardware to hold it at the rear (pictured ). ). Structurally, a flat metal strip of sufficient strength instead of round metal tubes avoids this problem. That being said, the crib rails appear to be quite high quality and decently finished. I'm sure it was a good choice, just the design isn't perfect. I will edit this review if the splint fails in any way.
