The cooler arrived a day after ordering and we quickly found that both power cords were under a hinged cover on the top of the cooler. We took a pack of 6 liter soda bottles into the hot garage and put them in the fridge. We plugged it in, set it to cool and went to bed. In the morning the soda was very cool, even cold, and everything was as it should be. I think when we go traveling we will put pre-chilled food and drinks in the fridge and plan to take them to the hotel to the power grid at night, but that's all we expected! So the second day of ownership is over and we're still thrilled! Connect 12V to the car during the day for cool food and drinks while driving. Now that we can carry perishable groceries, this refrigerator pays for itself because we can buy groceries from grocery stores instead of shops or restaurants, and we also don't have to buy ice or dry ice. Update: 5 days on the road and the frozen water bottles still half frozen in the fridge! At night we bring it to the hotel and turn it on, during the day it works with 12V in the car. So far so good, we are very satisfied! No problem during the 2 week trip, we took it to the hotel every night and ran it on AC. I added depth measurements because some have asked for 2 liter bottles and the bottle height should be 12.9 inches so at least one or two should fit on the left side where there is a cut out at the top.
