I have both an official Nintendo case and Genki. I bought this one because the lid comes off as sometimes the lid gets on my nerves. It's very durable and seems to protect my switch quite well. The texture is somewhat waxy. Which doesn't bother me because it gives him a bit more support. Others might not like it. The only thing I would change is stronger magnets for closing. It is very easy to accidentally open the case.
