These eyelets work even better than I expected. I used these grommets on my tank as part of my lettuce garden's flooding and drainage system. They create an airtight connection so you can connect a 1/2 inch hose for water to flow through. The spigot connection is fully and effectively sealed and leak-free. You should make a hole no more than 3/8 inch wide and "push" the bushing into the hole. It's a pretty tight fit, but I always say "better safe than sorry." You can use silicone to "glue" the grommet in place, otherwise the grommet may pop out if you connect the hose.
