Review on 🚗 ANCEL FX2000 Car Code Reader: Advanced OBD2 Scanner for Engine, ABS, SRS & Transmission Diagnostic by Tyler Parker

I purchased this item to help diagnose problems with my wife's 2007 Hyundai Elantra. As an old company with falling costs, I no longer want to run to the mechanic for every problem. I suppose if I know, I'll have a chance to sort it out myself. This device is total overkill for my actual needs but I think I will grow on it and as our other machine is out of warranty I hope to be able to use that too. I didn't have to connect this device to update the software. It worked for me straight away, my machine was already booted up. This is my first time using one of these but it was easy enough to connect, navigate and diagnose. It was little more than plug and play. I just had to identify my car and it did exactly what I needed. First I turned off the warning light and drove a bit. The light has returned. I did this because I did a few things before buying this unit and wanted to make sure I didn't just have to clear the code (I've read that sometimes on some vehicles the code needs to be cleared even if the problem is already fixed). Anyhow, it looks like my issue is related to the coolant temp sender unit feeding my dash temp sensor which is tied to the lowest temp. It's not a coolant or thermostat issue so I've ordered a new sensor and am planning on installing it and see what happens. Now I understand you may be wondering why I shared all of this when so much of it seems irrelevant. Well it's easy. I'm not a mechanic, I'm not very "hand to hand" and have never used such a device. I was a little scared, but it turned out to be relatively easy. In my eyes this is what I want. It works, it's easy to use, and it also feels like a tool that will last for years and that I can grow on. Even if there are free software updates in the future, I have nothing to worry about. I'm happy with the purchase even though it was three times more expensive than some other highly rated devices. I don't regret the purchase and I don't feel ripped off. Now you understand, I've looked at a lot of devices and while there are cheaper ones out there, I don't want to present this as a premium mechanical device. I have no idea how "premium" that is, but I do know that real professional devices cost 10 times as much. That's just stupid money for a guy trying to become a competent shade tree mechanic. Please keep in mind that this is your budget, your options and how much you want to use in the future. If I spent what I did to use this one time, not very much. But with the intention of using them in the future, with the intention of researching and expanding their abilities, this seems more than enough.
