I don't think anyone would ever call this men's bag - it's too masculine to even be called a 'purse'. This is a backpack. The bag is a good size though. The straps are strong, magnetic closures feel nice too. Very roomy - I can slip my 17" laptop in if needed (although I wouldn't want it without padding - it's not a laptop sleeve!) Pockets are numerous and well thought out - one (actually two) exception - outside pockets. They're perfect for stuffing all sorts of things in - if only you could without undoing the buckles and straps. EVERYONE. ONCE. A terrible design flaw that you could try to "fix" by simply removing the straps. Well, that's not a good idea as then nothing will hold your stuff in place. Removing the straps and putting a velcro over it I haven't tried anything yet because I like the look and style of this thing the way it is, I don't want to screw it up grabbing everywhere to toss in the back seat when you're out and about if they have one Fixing design flaws on the sides (maybe a pair of magnetic buckles to attach the straps like they have on the front? Hmm. Pear.) this would be the *perfect* bag.
