This nutcracker was purchased to help the big guy in the red suit meet the expectations of a six year old girl. This year she read and saw the nutcracker hoping for a wooden nutcracker figure that cracks nuts. exists So bought a nice one. And this one too so she can love the nutcracker and snatch the mixed bag of nuts in her stocking. This nutcracker is cute but it doesn't hold big nuts like walnuts. The lever isn't strong enough to crack the nut, Pecan or hazelnut My husband has had success with almonds but only one I think this nutcracker is sure to become a piece of garden art It is amazing but we were hoping it would actually work as advertised.
