Review on πŸ“ Glarks Stainless Portable Measuring Tool - R0 3 1 5 by Adam French

Not that bad. best in testing, measuring and verifying

First the pros and cons. Pros: Inexpensive, fast delivery, wide range of sizes, both concave and convex gauges. Cons: Heavy with light machine oil (stainless steel?), sand between sheets, a few double sheets (two of the same size), some are marked as heavy and some as light with sizing, some sheets are upside down in the stack so the Sizing information is on the facing page. a plastic box that looks a bit like a study. In the box, the measurement kits are individually packed in a protective plastic bag. When they are removed from the covers it is noticeable that they are coated in a light protective machine oil, which surprised me a bit considering it is stainless steel. I quickly checked each set and noticed that in two sets the sheets were folded in half (sheets were the same size), but I didn't see any missing sizes. As I moved the sheets in batches, I noticed that they were all contaminated with some kind of fine sand. After checking everything, I wiped them down with a clean rag to remove excess oil and dirt on them. I then mixed some dish soap with some hot water and put the sensors in for 15 minutes. When I came back there was a slight tarnish on two sets, no rust, more like etching. This was present on many of the holder's leaves and side plates, but a set of five was actually nice and shiny. For the price you really can't complain. I do not use them for machining or precision work, they are used to reproduce models etc for 3D printing. So they're actually not a bad value.

Pros
  • high quality
Cons
  • unreliable
