These straws are much thinner than my regular straws which I consider to be pretty standard like the ones you see in a restaurant. These straws fit easily into a standard drinking straw. I love that it has a flexible hinge and so far this area hasn't broken or anything on the ones I've used. I like to have them individually wrapped because I try to keep a few of these in a bag so my little one can easily drink from a cup if we are somewhere that doesn't have straws or if there are only paper straws that he can put in destroyed in seconds. .The photos show that this straw is transparent compared to the standard straw (orange).
