I'll start by looking for a pocket HD camcorder, not a full size HD camcorder. Also, I remembered that I wanted something relatively cheap (I didn't want to buy something so expensive that I was afraid to use it). That being said, the Kodak Zi6 has been a great buy so far. I initially budgeted around $180 and ended up buying this camera from Revain for around $106. a lot of. Since then I have used this camcorder at a baseball game, wedding and other events. Videos captured in well-lit areas are fantastic. Video in darker areas is generally expected, but that's true for any camera or camcorder. The portability is good. fits right in my pocket. The weight is quite late. 2 AA batteries weigh more than the camcorder itself, or so it seems. I like the ability to expand with an SD card. At the moment I'm using a 2GB card, which allows me to record about half an hour of video in HD (30 frames per second). I recently bought a 16GB SDHC card (also from Revain) and look forward to using it. You can insert a memory card up to 32GB in your camcorder. I would like to mention one thing: why I chose this particular product over the competition (ie Creative HD Vado and Flip HD camcorders). I think the sound is better in this device. If you go to YouTube and look for videos from each of these camcorder models, you'll find that the Zi6's sound is slightly better than other devices. After all, what good is a video if you can't hear people talking? The product is very easy to use (if my sister can use it easily, anyone can!). Costs money!
