After taking it out of the box, I balanced it in about six minutes using a Nikon D5000 with an 18-55mm lens. (I find the tutorial video overly complicated.) I was expecting there to be more plastic, but beyond the four "legs" everything is aluminum. (Foam around the handle.) Beautifully designed. Comes with a soft case with protective foam pads. It's not motorized, so you'll have to "guide" it gently with your other hand to keep it from straying as you move, but for forty bucks that's not even a problem. (Comparable motorized units cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.) It's actually possible to do some pretty cool camera moves once you get the hang of it. Works well with my cell phone. Although I'm not sure I would buy it just for the phone. Advertised as a DSLR stabilizer and well worth the money!
