I am an active 60+ female. I exercise daily with some form of activity- walk the dog, elliptical, strength training etc. I have osteoarthritis in my hips, and was having foot pain as well. I was looking for a shoe that was similar to the one with the "yoga mat” cushion inside. This is not the same, but very comfortable. I put my orthopedic inserts in and with the upper material being a knit it works well. However, if you need a stiffer shoe, this is not stiff. because it is a knit the upper support is not huge. All in all, I absolutely love these as an alternative to my other variety of shoes. I bought the purple because my husband loves purple, I usually do not, but these are a great color and they brighten all the black and gray in my workout wear! I will definitely be buying another pair!
