This worked great allowing me to rebuild the lamp to have a custom length cord and a much better look. Fits standard threaded lamp posts but as always with these prettier cords and poles the cord sits very tight on the post and you will need to be able to do some tricky assembly practice to get it together. I am however very happy with the end product and replaced the faulty cord which was not the perfect length with a new decorative cord with fabric sleeves (cut from a decorative extension) which I cut to the perfect length.
