K8 keyboard is more "Premium". But I like this one more than the K8. I ordered C1 and K8 at the same time (the most expensive). If my K8 hadn't broke I would probably still want to return it. The height difference at C1 makes a big difference. It may seem insignificant next to each other. The K8 requires a wrist rest, while the C1 can do without it. It might seem like a small thing, but for me it was a crucial factor. K8 is the tallest keyboard I've ever used. It seems random and overdone. The height makes it unusable without a palm rest. C1 is a bit louder. This is not a problem for me as I use it in my home office. I like bright colors. But the C1 color combo might not suit everyone (my peers are divided - some really like them). But it's a great keyboard for modding, so changing keycaps is a great first thing. C1 is a great price. It's incredibly hard to beat this price range. They share a number of common features - backlighting, hot-swappable switches (if you've settled on that particular k8), similar firmware, similar layout.
