Never thought it would work. I set it at dog height, rang the bell with a dog's paw, and then let it out into the street over and over and over again. I left thinking, okay, a few bucks down the drain. When I got to the other part of the house, I heard a phone call. I quickly went to the door and there he was waiting. So I released it. The rest of the day he rang the bell about 50 times! Every time I let him go. The next day he rang the bell about 10 times. Every time I opened the door and let him out. That's all. Now he only calls when he really needs to get out. It's paradise.
