Review on 3M 41594 Polyurethane Sealant 10 1 by Adam Tidd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked very well for me

This is an excellent product. My particular application was a 2007 Honda Fit that was notorious for developing body cracks near the sunroof hinges that allowed water to seep in and pool in the rear spare tire well. This seal turned out to be the perfect solution. I only wish it was smaller as I only needed a fraction of the amount in the cartridge (and I doubt my efforts to reseal the cartridge will save the contents for future use). The standard nozzle hole size was perfect. for my repair but you can trim the tip to enlarge the hole for more flow. I was able to easily work off the applied sealant with a disposable brush and remove the excess with a paper towel. I waited three warm dry days and recommend at least two unless you can work indoors. Thorough cleaning of repaired surfaces is also important to me. I used a household all-purpose spray cleaner and dried thoroughly with paper towels and compressed air. (Instructions warn against contact with alcohol.) The applied sealant dried to be "tacky" within a few hours, stabilized within a day, and appeared to be fully cured after two days. The specification states that the material will cure at a rate of 1/8 inch (3 mm) in 24 hours at 73 degrees Fahrenheit and 50 percent relative humidity. I suggest downloading and studying the technical data sheet from the 3M website.
