This thing is amazing I survived 2 pairs of shoes on it. You only paint with a brush. You should make a fairly thick layer. And then just sprinkle it with whatever glitter you need. I used large silver sequins that I bought at Walmart. And then use a hair dryer to dry the glitter (you can do one side of the shoe and dry 5 minutes and then dry the other side and then dry another 5 minutes). You may need to apply a second coat. Gloss to ensure you have really good coverage. As long as you blow dry well, you don't need a top coat. My little girl wore a small pair and we had no problems.
