Was a gift to my grandson for DR a year ago. I didn't buy. I was surprised by the first pictures of a novice photographer. No more than 2-3% technically fit. Some kind of floating front-back focus. Attributed to the curvature of the photographer and the whale lens 18-55. A year later, I thought about buying new optics, but even fixes did not give a pleasing picture. However, in slow contrast focus or manual mode, everything was great. I did not want to give it to the service for 2 months. The result is this: I disassembled the device, removed the focus sensor, wiped it with a cloth and put it in place. There are no adjustments there. And a miracle happened. The whale lens turned out to be very good. Yes, a little dark, but for such a price . But most importantly, sharp. The percentage of good shots has grown by an order of magnitude. They are in no way inferior to my 57th Sonya. (Not a standard, of course, but there is nothing more to compare with) Conclusion: Good camera. However, when buying an ignorant person, it is difficult to assess the quality of the pictures. Take your laptop to the store and check it out. Well, if you already bought an unsuccessful copy, then without delay give it to the service and demand your own. And do not believe the sellers and servicemen that the whale lens should be cloudy. Lies! From personal experience, the vast majority of NEW cameras require repair or adjustment. Which is basically the same thing. So choose carefully. Good luck.
