Perfect. I have to swap 3 laptops between 2 monitors from time to time and 2 of these laptops only have DP out or mini DP/HDMI out. One of these monitors is an auto-sensing input, the other is a hard-coded input. Swapping video cables and fiddling with awkward places to plug in cables when I switch devices is very frustrating. This adapter has effectively eliminated the hassle of installing cables, so I just need to slip it between an existing cable and a moved laptop to simplify some hardware replacements. I know. I know. It doesn't seem too complicated if you're reading this - how hard is it to move a laptop and between monitors? But trust me "Standards" are not yet standardized enough. This is a cheap and effective cable that will save you from frustration. I'm too old to be frustrated with computers at the same time. We should already have Star Trek rugs and BttF hoverboards!
