UPDATE: 03/16/15 Everything is holding up well. I bought a magnetic clip for it and it makes the bag perfect; Magnetic Tube Clamp Source Tactical Gear http://www.amazon.com/Source-Tactical-Gear-Magnetic-Black/dp/B007TJ5X8E. Fits perfectly on the hose and never came off the clamp when I didn't want it to. The larger Hydrapak Blaster Bite Valve (http://www.amazon.com/Hydrapak-Blaster-Bite-Valve/dp/B00M19KFIA) is also a big improvement over the original. I don't want to close the inside again. I just toss it and the hose in the freezer when I'm done. If it's been out of the freezer for a while I can add some bleach before reusing. ---------------- Overall, Reyes is a well stocked pack with a highly rated bladder. It can be tightened when only used for water. After packing some small clothes and snacks, with a half-filled hydration reservoir (3L max), the backpack disappeared on my back as I rode a rocky singletrack. I heard water splashing but didn't feel it. The device compartment has 2 identical Velcro pockets on top; Underneath are 1 large (wide) Velcro pocket and 1 full-length pump pocket/loop. There is also a key clip and a very small stretch pocket. Unfortunately, there are no inner pockets with zips. I found my small items falling out of the stretch pocket along the way unless I carefully opened the main compartment (the bag flips over when the flap is opened). My phone, which is about 1/4 inch taller and wider than the iPhone 4, is slightly taller than the Velcro closures and takes up the full width of the case. I was able to fit 2 pairs of sunglasses in the bottom velcro pocket. I don't really understand the lack of interior zipped pockets, they can't add much value (if so, it would be worth it - although they wouldn't be deep enough to close for my use). I packed some hand warmers, thick shoe covers, a helmet cap, a thin long sleeve compression shirt, a light polyester jacket, 3 granola bars and a ziplock bag of dried fruit to leave some extra room. The backpack is almost invisible. It didn't bother me when riding in 45-50 degrees, but the back of my shirt (2 layers) was visibly sweaty when I took off my backpack. On the outside, this top hook hides a stretch pocket. There is a small loop (reflective) along the entire length of the bag for hanging a lantern or similar. The straps are well padded and include a chest strap and waist strap. I wasn't able to tighten the chest strap as tight as I wanted, but I had no problem moving it (like I said, I practically forgot about it until I needed a drink). Additional straps are held on the strap by fabric loops. Seems well done. There is a video of the bag loading on the Hydrapak website. The hydration bladder has a gusset and a zipper that opens as wide as the hydration bladder. "Snap Zip Baffle" allows you to zip open for shape control (2L) or zip for volume (3L). Mine was undone and quite difficult to close, but I managed and that's how I used it, so can't comment on sloshing water at full volume. It can be turned inside out for faster drying/cleaning. The bag also has a separate, padded, zippered pocket. Don't worry about anything scratching or piercing the bladder, although it seems durable (I think Hydrapak has a video of them running over the bladder and it doesn't explode or leak). They claim the bag offers "360 degree reservoir insulation" but my ice cubes melted pretty quickly (not even used at 70ยฐ+ yet) compared to a camelbak cooler which keeps my water cold for hours ( at 90 ยฐ weather). ). I haven't noticed any leaks from the hose/bladder connection or the bite valve. I was disappointed to find that the package I received (ordered elsewhere) did not include the much advertised "quantum clip" (bite valve/tube magnet) as is. It is stated that it only has a plastic clip. That wasn't a problem on the track. I hardly noticed the unpleasant taste of plastic. bite valve/hose does not flow as freely as desired; I have to work harder to pump the water out of the bite valve instead of the nozzle valve on my camel fish bottle. So while you're already sucking air, after sucking water you'll suffocate again. I don't know how that compares to the others though. Looks like they have a new type of valve (claim: highest flow on the market) that comes with all their current offerings, I can try. *Given the price I paid ($40) I may have received an older model which may make these complaints irrelevant. If I were shopping today, I would ask about the magnetic clip, bite flap style, and interior pockets before buying. Pros: Price Perfect size for me Very comfortable Large (3L), multi-function bladder with lifetime fill/clean guarantee Cons: No interior zippered pockets Short pockets No magnetic clip (can be purchased separately) Bite valve flow (renewable) $40 (price sale) This is a great backpack with a highly rated bladder that allows me to begrudgingly ignore the lack of internal zips. At $50+, it becomes harder not to notice their absence and the lack of a magnetic clip. Again, I don't know how this directly compares to others other than price and volume, and it's definitely competitive in that regard. The bubble itself is $30 if you find a bag that you like the most.
