The color looks lighter in the photo but then you have to do it in bright light. I like the real color, very dark blue, almost black. As I have several much lighter and more colorful quilted jackets I can wear these with lighter clothing. I really like the knitted cuffs in the sleeves, which keep the cold air out. As I'm only 5ft 1" the coat comes almost to my knees, although I suppose I'd be quite happy with that on very cold days. The detachable hood with faux fur trim is nice, but I live in Texas so I guess I won't need it, if at all, so I love the fact that I can zip it up and pack it away. Tailored coat. It is not filled with down, but keeps you just as warm. Oh, and I almost forgot that each pocket has a button closure so your keys (or other important items) you keep there don't accidentally fall out; and the front can also be buttoned up if you don't want to use a zipper, how cool is that? I look like a happy customer or something. lol
