I have had my previous peeler for over 10 years - and I am a creature of habit. No one else who ever came to my house and used my peeler liked it - but I was used to it. I came across this one online and knew I needed a good replacement - and this one has exceeded my expectations. It cuts with precision without gouging. You can peel without a lot of resistance which is ideal for me. I am right-handed and prefer to peel towards me while my husband (and most others) seem to prefer to peel away from them. The blade can be removed and turned as needed for your kitchen task. The handle is comfortable and I believe it would equally suit both right-handed and left-handed people. I am very impressed and happy to have this new tool in my kitchen!
