As soon as you wrap them up, you can feel the softness and suppleness of these pillowcases. I don't know yet if they protect you from night sweats, but they cool down very quickly. I have yet to turn the pillows over, but I have to say it only takes a few minutes for them to cool completely. I can get up for a few minutes and when I go back to bed they're cold again. These pillowcases have two different types of fabric on each side, I choose gray so I have more (two tone) heathered gray silky fabric on one side and the back is a standard microfiber fabric which is a bit thicker. something like flannel. Great for winter and maybe to keep it from shifting too much on the bed. They lie perfectly on my pillows and still don't wrinkle. I've only washed and dried them a few times so far, but I'm sure they will hold up well with continued use and washing. I will be buying more for my other pillows because of their suppleness. I definitely recommend them for comfort, but so far I haven't found a solution for night sweats. I'm not entirely happy that these pillowcases are the solution to night sweats, but then we may never find a solution to this pesky problem.
