My old Pur filter jug finally broke after years of use. I have considered switching brands but Pur filters are still highly regarded and I have found them to be very suitable for my needs. This pitcher has bad reviews from others but I took it because it was the only choice that worked for me. I'll leave that, but I'd like to add that this is a terrible jug. Although it's the same size as my old pitcher, it holds half the water. The filter is more difficult to install. The top of the pitcher has been made unnecessarily complex, with a place to pour water and a small valve to pour the water. Both are poorly constructed and I'm sure they will break over time. The inlet flap is too small to be practical and it's easier to just remove the top. The design of the jug means that the water runs out too slowly. The only improvement is that the handle is stronger than my old pot. However, I think I've had this old pot for 10 years and the less durable handle was really ok. It's hard to understand why they made something more complex yet less functional.
