When everything works, this setup is ideal for novice underwater videographers. I hooked up a Sony ActionCam and the combination makes great videos. The light is bright and stays the same over time. The setup would benefit from moving the light a little further away from the camera as there is still a slight snowflake effect. The reason for the three stars is because the light is temperamental. . On some dives, the temperature sensor seems to kick in, dimming the lights to the point of being almost unusable. In others, the bulb refuses to turn on after being replaced with new batteries, but after a period of "airing" it works like an elephant. It's odd that the manual says to clean the gold plated battery contacts every time you change the battery, but the whole point of gold plating is to provide a chemically inert surface for the contacts. Because of this, I stopped using this flashlight.
