This gauge doesn't really help me confirm hook size as most hooks I have and use don't go through holes. Below I've listed the types of hooks I have and if I can test them with this gauge. SUITABLE: Susan Bates hook (Silvalume and Bamboo handle) Clover Amour hook (ergonomic) DOES NOT FIT: Tulip Etimo (ergonomic) Boye (aluminum) Knitter's Pride Waves (ergonomic) Curtzy (aluminum) EpicBelle (ergonomic) Clover Soft Touch (ergonomic ) I do not intend to return this item as it will be more difficult to return than to keep. However, for other potential buyers who want to check the size of their crochet hooks, I strongly recommend purchasing a different gauge.
