I usually love OXO kitchenware. I have a lot of her stuff in the kitchen. I bought this at the same time as their temperature controlled kettle which is amazing by the way. This scale? Not as much. First, if you want an approximate weight, that's fine. But if you're buying the scale to walk around the stadium, it's probably just as good as looking at it. But I try to make the perfect mug every day. To the point I even made a spreadsheet to track my beer. I want to keep an eye on everything as closely as possible. The problem with these scales is that once you get very accurate readings, they stop working. If you wanted exactly 17 grams, that's hard to come by. I can be at 16.8 and slow down the addition of the beans to get the accuracy right. But the scale doesn't register any change when I add multiple beans at once. Knowing there is a change, I remove the container and put it back on. Nothing yet. Take it off again and put something else on the scale, then take it off and put the beans back on. Now he says 17:4! This goes both ways if I also need to remove the beans. Of course, I also doubt the weight of the water. Very annoying! The design is excellent. The silicone case is a nice addition. It looks good on my counter. But that's not why I bought it. Very disappointed, now I'm looking for another option. Like I said, OXO's temperature controlled kettle is the best I've tried. But I will not buy an OXO scale again.
