Here's what I've learned about dentures and the use of adhesives: Powder, Fixodent (reg or plus) and Polygrip (orig without zinc)************ * ** ************************************************** ** ****** ** ****************************** Powder - Some swear by powder. Thought it would be good for a quick fix but not for long term use or for eating. ************************************** ********** ** *************************************************** ** ******* *****Fixodent (reg or plus scope): Benefits: If your prosthesis is new and fits really well and you just need extra insurance, or if you eat I have Fixodent ( reg or plus scope) works best in small amounts. And especially with mandibular prostheses. It seals very well and stays in place for hours while eating. I put it on, insert it, rinse my mouth out with water, then brush off the excess with a toothbrush. Cons: If you use too much, that shit will ooze out and make it hard for you to get rid of the excess (it might even make you throw up on your upper denture), so until you figure out the right amount, less is better She. wash and dissolve yourself. If you try to remove your dentures before they're worn out, expect to feel like you're pulling real teeth out - I mean, they seal really well. or spend eternity collecting and purifying gupa. ************************************************** **** * * ******************************************** ***** ******* **** ***Super Poligrip (Original Zinc Free) Benefits: When your dentures are outdated, your gums have receded a bit and they just don't fit as well as they used to previously. It's great for filling in gaps. (I'll even use this to fill in the gaps and then add a few dabs of Fixodent to give a little extra security. You can use more and just remove any seepage easier than Fixodent, although it still hurts a little It seals really well and lasts for hours very well, even while eating. Holding power. Again, it's best to let it wear down and loosen on its own. Same problem with good adhesion and messy cleaning out, it loses its Hold on but there's still a lot of goop, both should get rid of the goop, if you put it in the sink it can clog it, it's best to toss the excess in the trash (I rarely do this, I'm sure I do will pay for it is the price.) Hope this helps! Fitting a new prosthesis was a scary process and there wasn't much good information. I almost always had mine. Without them I feel weird and i'm starting to feel ashamed yes. At first you will doubt whether you made the right choice. All my life I have suffered greatly from dental problems due to medication and heredity. You have to get used to them. You have to come back when something hurts or doesn't feel right. After that, man, I wish I'd gotten her sooner - I fucking love her. No more pain, spent tons of money on things that didn't work, and they look natural - no one will know until I tell them. I would like to get implants to make them more secure but mainly to keep my bones/gums from receding.
