Review on Proraso Refresh Shaving Soap Bowl - 5.2 Oz by Melissa Hall

I bought this shaving cream thinking it would be its complement to green aftershave with menthol and eucalyptus which is my very favorite aftershave but it smells like absolutely nothing. After 40 years of shaving I use Saponificio Varesino and Cella shaving creams exclusively and I don't use anything else because I think (except for a few others that are hard to come by in the US) they are one of the best shaving creams. I've decided to try Proraso for a change though, as I've been seeing it in more and more stores lately. The smell of it is not at all attractive and reminds me of "waxy", not refreshing at all, and afterwards the residue on the skin is completely undesirable. I had to wash my face again after shaving which is unacceptable. The resulting lather was good, but I didn't get my usual close shave. After 3 shaves it went in the trash. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or if it was made on purpose, but I won't be buying it again. There are much better shaving creams out there.
