I bought my first pair of these shoes early last year in Islamorada, Florida Keys after seeing many retired fishermen wearing them to several restaurants. Before I bought them, I probably broke or lost over 50 pairs of $5-$10 foldable readers. I loved my first pair so much that I bought a second pair to keep in my car's glove compartment in case I forgot to hang my main pair around my neck when I left the house. They are hard wearing with high quality glass lenses and require intentional hammering to break or scratch them. I even wash them in the dishwasher every week or so to keep them sparkling clean. If you leave them next to your wallet and keys in the kitchen or bathroom before bedtime, they will always remind you to put them on before you leave the house. When not pressed or used for reading, the lenses and lanyard hang easily and unobtrusively around the neck.
