If you own this printer note the following: 1. Prints very well with 3rd party inks which are only 1/4 the cost of an HP -cartridge.2. HP sends firmware updates to the printer to block third-party ink cartridges.3. You can disable firmware updates on the printer - go to Settings -> Printer maintenance -> Update printer -> Printer update options -> Do not scan. Make sure you select NO to the optional question to disable verification.4. Third-party ink manufacturers like ValueToner will send you replacement cartridges if you make a mistake with an HP update. Just call their support team. There is always an answer that can be answered during regular business hours.5. If you need an upgrade, just call ValueToner first and ask if the upgrade will destroy the ink cartridges. I would only upgrade the printer when told I can, or alternatively right before purchasing new cartridges.
