Before this purchase I had a heat lamp for my leopard gecko but I turned the lamp off at night. I bought an under tank heater to turn it on at night so it has a heat source. Every night he goes to the hot spot and every morning I find him lying on the hot spot. I feel like he has more energy - and I know the warmth on their tummy helps them digest their food. I haven't had any issues with burns or broken glass - just follow the instructions and it will work like magic!
