Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Lansky Natural Black Hard Arkansas Hone - Unleash Razor-Sharp Precision! by William Whisperer

Nothing compares to reality! Excellent Sharpening Stone

This is the newest addition to my Lansky set and combines false sharpeners (Alumina, Diamond, Sapphire Coated and Arkansas) that I keep coming back to Arkansas Hawns. I have a couple of bench stones (Arkansas Hard and Black Hard) and a Lansky Hard Arkansas sharpening stone, and nothing sharpens a knife quite like natural stones. . Lansky advertises the hard stone as 650 grit, which is pretty good. The grit size of the black stone is not specified, but this type of stone is usually on the order of 1200-2500 grit size. I have a 2500 grit Arkansas black hard stone and there is no noticeable difference between the two, but the bench stone is slightly thinner. The stone is well finished. It is securely attached to the plastic bracket and is very smooth on the underside. You should lubricate it during use with an oil made specifically for sharpening stones (like Nathan's or other brands, do not use motor oil, vegetable oil, mineral oil or gun oil), however, it is very important to lubricate and transport it Sawdust, so that the surface of the stone does not become clogged. I use it after hard Arkansas stone and it gives my kitchen a very sharp edge and I carry knives and my large knives have a very thin edge. I like this stone more than the LS1000 stone and the Super Sapphire because it cuts faster and gives a sharper edge. When you're done, wipe it down with plenty of oil and put it away. Nothing sharpens like Arkansas stones. You can sharpen but also polish the blade at the same time without creating large burrs (like with super hard ceramic or super sapphire) that need to be cut/polished. I've noticed that they last longer than artificial abrasives. They work well with modern hard steels. I can sharpen my CM154 knife fairly easily with Arkansas and have no doubt that it will work with really hard steels like A2, D2, ATS-34, 1095, O1 or s30v or VG-10. If you want to sharpen your own knives and you own a Lansky set, I highly recommend getting the tough black Arkansas. Combine it with tough Arkansas and you have the perfect solution to get your knives razor sharp in no time. What I like: Well made, high quality Arkansas stone Quick to sharpen and polish razor sharp Easy to use What I don't like: A bit pricey. It's okay if you know what you're getting.
